About Us

QualityI am a retired businessman who turned stained glass skills I learned four decades ago into an artistic passion. While living in Monterey during the 1990’s, a renowned local stained glass artist mentored and taught me how to bring my work to life, how to take advantage of the infinite colors and patterns of glass, and let my imagination and creativity guide me toward the finished piece. All this has given me an immense drawing board from which I find inspiration.

ENSURING A QUALITY FINISHED PRODUCT

Stained glass artwork from Mezza Luna Studios is your assurance of exceptional quality. Building a strong business relationship with you is critical for our success. Our business is dependent upon customer satisfaction, referrals and references. Our approach to meeting or exceeding your expectations is found in our commitment to integrity and craftsmanship.

♦  Integrity

When we say we’re going to do something, you can trust that we’ll do it. Here’s what you can expect:

  • The only times we want you to be surprised is when your invoice is lower than our estimate or quote and our product exceeds your wildest expectations.
  • When we meet to discuss your ideas, we make observations about your environment, color, style, feel, and decorative tastes. If you don’t know exactly what you want, we’ll present options and watch for that spark of excitement or approval. This discovery process helps you walk through the possibilities while it gives us the ability to make credible recommendations that will work best for you.
  • If you change your mind a lot during the design phase, it is a sign that creativity is working!
  • When we prepare an estimate or quote, I put my business background to work to be as thorough as possible in making sure we account for all that goes into building your artwork. It’s part of our “no surprises” commitment.
  • Constant communication is the best way to make sure we’re on track with your expectations.

♦  Craftsmanship

We know what makes quality stained glass artwork. We work to earn your trust and confidence so that you know we have your best interests in mind.

  • Materials are selected to balance both strength and aesthetics. Through experience, we know where some designs can create stress points or compromise the eloquence of the finished product.
  • When you run your finger over our soldered joints, the first thing you’ll notice is that they are all smooth. To get smooth joints, we must work with the right blend of solder, heat, skill, speed and patience. Smooth joints are solid joints, and they are the first and most noticeable signs of good workmanship. They look and feel good to the touch – something important to you when you stand close and admire it.
  • We cement all lead came artwork with a black pigmented weather resistant mastic which fortifies the piece as well as making it more esthetically pleasing.
  • All soldered joints and corners are thoroughly cleaned making the finished product crisp in appearance.
  • Lead came and soldered foil receives a black patina bath to protect and produce a deep luster on the lead to frame and outline the beauty of your artwork.
  • Re-enforcement bars are added to larger pieces for strength and stability.
  • All stained glass panels come with mounting rings that are soldered firmly to the panel itself or placed on the frame if part of the order.
  • We can install the finished artwork and meticulously level it in the designated place in your home or business.
  • If you want to hang your artwork in a window that’s neither square nor level, we take that into account when we fabricate it to ensure it fits evenly in its opening.
  • If you want your finished artwork shipped, please consult with us about the best way to get it there in one piece. Depending upon its destination and size, we can build a protective crate.
